  • This course is designed to prepare you for the ABOIM exam by reviewing underlying causes and complimentary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies for common conditions, including: gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, mental health & substance abuse, pain management, Cancer, asthma, diabetes, and allergies. You will review dietary supplements used to treat these conditions and discuss the evidence-base driving their use.
    By the end of this course, learners will be ableto:

    • Review evidence-based use of dietary supplements and complimentary modalities of treatment for a variety of common conditions such as gastro-intestinal disorders that include IBS, reflux, cholelithiasis, and constipation.
    • Describe evidence-based use of dietary supplements and complimentary modalities of treatment for a variety of common conditions including pain management and substance abuse.
    • Discuss evidence-based use of dietary supplements and complimentary modalities of treatment for a variety of common conditions such as men’s health including prostate disorders, urolithiasis, and erectile dysfunction.
    • Review evidence-based use of dietary supplements and complimentary modalities of treatment for a variety of common conditions including rheumatologic and neurologic disorders.
    • Review evidence-based use of dietary supplements and complimentary modalities of treatment for a variety of common conditions including allergies, mental health disorders, asthma, ADHD, Autism, Cancer, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes.
