  • This presentation will explore the overlap between medicine, ecology and transpersonal psychology. Physics and the nature of our universe itself also come into focus to help us understand why living organisms are imbedded in a matrix of life that is built connection. This profound drive for connection serves as the basis for healing and our movement to a higher order of health. Healing and community may represent different expressions of the same natural process.
    By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

    • Explain the ecological foundation of medicine and transpersonal psychology.
    • Identify three catalysts for profound healing.
    • Assess the need for deeper healing in patients and be able to offer general treatment recommendations.

About SCOTT
Scott Shannon, MD, ABIHM, has been involved in holistic medicine since he joined the American Holistic Medical Association in 1978. Scott has been instrumental in the creation of a holistic and integrative perspective in psychiatry for two decades. He published the first textbook for this field in 2001. Scott is a past President of the AHMA and a past President of the ABIHM. He was a founding Board member for the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine.
