  • Test your ABOIM exam readiness with our psychometrically validated online exam written by a team of seasoned integrative physicians using the 4th and 5th editions of Dr. David Rakel's well-known textbook, Integrative Medicine. Roughly 20% of the sample questions come from other sources. The question writers do not know the content of the examination; questions have been developed in accordance with information on the ABOIM website.

    According to the ABOIM website, the ABOIM exam involves 200 multiple choice questions delivered over 4 hours. If you are timing yourself, please be aware that our practice test includes 253 questions.

    SECTION 1: Study by Topic
    In this section the exam is separated into separate quizzes, allowing you to focus on one topic at a time. Each quiz description lists the corresponding chapters in Rakel’s textbook so that you may easily go back to those sections if you need more time studying. We strongly recommend that you spend time reviewing the questions in this format before attempting the full 258 question practice exam.

    SECTION 2: Full Practice Exam
    In this section you must take the 253 question practice exam in its entirety. Your progress will saved and you can comeback to complete the exam at your leisure. Please plan enough time to complete the full exam to get practice in taking an exam of this length. You can take the practice exam as many times as you like.

    A full report of the exam with correct answer choices and feedback is available after completing the exam.

About Erika
Dr. Cappelluti is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, critical care, and integrative medicine (IM).  She began her career as a research scientist, obtaining a PhD in biochemistry and molecular biophysics at the Medical College of Virginia where she later completed her medical training.  She was a resident, chief resident, and fellow at UMass Medical Center in Worcester, MA, then joined Connecticut Multispecialty Group (CMG, now called Starling Physicians) in 2004.  She became a diplomate of the ABIHM in 2008 and of the ABOIM in 2015 and obtained a Master of Arts degree in IM in 2009.   She founded and was the Medical Director of the Center for Integrative Health and Healing, the integrative medicine division of CMG, which later became the Center for Healing Arts after merging with the Hartford Hospital IM program. She has authored many scientific articles and abstracts and has written many articles about IM. Dr. Cappelluti is the current Director of the AIHM Fellowship program.
