  • Course Summary

  • There is growing evidence to support adjunct therapies where pharmaceutical drugs produce inadequate responses. The physiological effects of breathing meditation/yoga, nutrition therapy, physical activity, and music therapy will be discussed. Specific and actionable ways to incorporate integrative therapies into drug resistant cases will be addressed.
    By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

    • Restate current evidence that supports adjunct therapies where pharmaceutical drugs product inadequate responses
    • Relate the physiologic mechanisms of integrative therapies to the mechanisms of action of drug treatments
    • Design integrative treatment plans for patients with drug refractory depression, pain, and epilepsy
