  • As an Integrative Endocrinologist in an academic practice, I see a number of patients who are treated for adrenal fatigue. Join me as I review the current available literature on chronic stress and its impact on adrenal function. We will briefly review commonly used testing strategies to assess adrenal function and then will discuss the use of non-hormonal and hormonal treatments exploring the benefits and risks of each.
    By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

    • Interpret common tests used to evaluate patients with adrenal disease.
    • Judge the risks and benefits of hormonal and non-hormonal treatments for adrenal fatigue.
    • Cite the impact of chronic stress on adrenal function.

Rashmi Mullur, MD, ABIHM

About Rashmi
Dr. Mullur is an integrative endocrinologist at UCLA and the Chief of Telehealth at the Greater Los Angeles VA. She has pioneered several clinical programs using integrative medicine techniques for the management of chronic disease and is a national leader on the use of integrative medicine for patients with diabetes. She has published on the use of experiential learning modules to residents about integrative medicine, and has written several educational curricula in integrative medicine. Her clinical interests include the use of yoga and mind-body approaches for diabetes, integrative approaches for stress management and fatigue, and the judicious use of herbal and micronutrient supplements in chronic disease. She has led the Los Angeles VA in telehealth implementation during the COVID-19 pandemic and has been instrumental in advancing the use of telemedicine in integrative health.
