What you will learn

  • Course Summary

  • Compassion fatigue is common among all healthcare providers. Learning to manage stress in a meaningful and time sensitive way is crucial to both patient safety and satisfaction as well as employee retention. Join us as we review our journey to wellness and learn how we integrated our IRB approved research study on the use of clinical hypnosis and aromatherapy into the busy workday of a clinical nurse. We will review valid and reliable tools to measure compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue. Participants will engage in a hands-on stress reduction exercise and experience the benefit of aromatherapy for relaxation and stress reduction.
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

    • Compare valid and reliable tools to measure compassion fatigue in healthcare providers
    • Practice several stress reduction exercises that involve self hypnosis and aromatherapy
    • Evaluate the physiologic effect of aromatherapy and guided imagery

Course includes:

  • Video recording
  • Downloadable audio
  • Speaker handout(s)
