About Rauni
Rauni Prittinen King, RN, MIH, BSN, CHTP/I, HNB-BC, is the co-founder and executive director of Guarneri Integrative Health, Inc. at Pacific Pearl La Jolla, California, U.S.A. An accomplished business woman, healthcare provider and instructor, she is the founder and president of Holistic and Integrative Medicine Resources Inc. and the president of Miraglo Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization that she founded. Rauni has over 20 years of experience in critical care nursing. A board member of the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM), and served for four years on the Healing Beyond Borders Board of Directors. Rauni is founder and former director of Programs and Planning at the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine in La Jolla, California and served as the nurse case manager for the Scripps Dean Ornish Program for Reversing Heart Disease. She is a director and coordinator of national and international holistic and integrative medicine conferences for physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers.
Certified in holistic nursing, hypnotherapy and interior design, Rauni also is a Certified Healing Touch® Practitioner and Instructor. She has been coordinating Healing Touch® workshops at Scripps Hospitals since 1993 and is the lead instructor for the Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System. Creating Healing Touch® of Finland in 1998, she has been teaching Healing Touch in Europe, India and throughout North America since then. For her work, she received the Trailblazer Award from the Scripps Health Foundation. She has been honored for her work in Southern India by Project Concern International. Rauni has published in peer reviewed journals.
After receiving a BSN from Arizona State University, she earned a Master’s in Integrative Health from National University. Rauni is a member of the American Holistic Nurses Association Healing Beyond Borders and Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine.

Lucia Thornton, ThD, RN, MSN, AHN-BC
About Lucia
Dr. Thornton is a past-president of the American Holistic Nurses Association and has been involved in nursing and holistic healing for over 35 years. After working in Emergency, Trauma and Intensive Care she became interested in holism and healing. She helped develop the process of Board Certification in Holistic Nursing and served as the first Executive Director for the American Holistic Nurses Certification Corporation.
Lucia helped develop one of the first inpatient hospice homes in the United States over 35 years ago. For the past 15 years Lucia has created seminars for hospitals and communities that focus on health, healing, and wellness. Her work in transforming hospitals and organizations into “healing and healthy environments” has received national, state and local recognition including the Norman Cousins Award.
She developed the Model of Whole-Person Caring that serves as an interprofessional guide for personal and organizational healing and transformation. The Whole-Person Caring model operationalizes concepts that are inherent to healing and provides a common framework that supports and encourages interprofessional collaboration and practice.
Dr. Thornton authored the book Whole Person Caring: An Interprofessional Model for Healing and Wellness. She is a member of the board of directors for the Integrative Health Policy Consortium (IHPC) and the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM).

Barbara Dossey, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN
About Barbara
Barbara Dossey, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN, HWNC-BC, internationally recognized integrative holistic nursing pioneer, a nurse theorist, and Florence Nightingale Scholar. She is Co-Director, International Nurse Coach Association (INCA) and Core Faculty, Integrative Nurse Coach Certificate Program (INCCP), North Miami, Florida; International Co-Director, Nightingale Initiative for Global Health (NIGH); and Director of Holistic Nursing Consultants (HNC), Santa Fe, New Mexico.
She has received many awards and has authored or co-authored 24 books including Holistic Nursing: A Handbook for Practice (6th ed., 2013); The Art and Science of Nurse Coaching: The Provider’s Guide for Coaching Scope and Competencies (2013); Florence Nightingale: Mystic, Visionary, Healer (2010, Commemorative Edition); Compassionate Care of the Dying: Manual and Standards for Practice (2007); and Florence Nightingale Today: Healing, Leadership, Global Action (2005).
