Course Description

This session guides healthcare professionals through the journey of integrating conventional medical practices with an integrative health mindset. Participants will explore common misconceptions and real-world challenges in integrative health, shifting perspectives to embrace a more holistic approach. Key topics include navigating the ‘gulf of thought’ between medical and nontraditional therapies, embodying integrative health principles, and applying these insights to enhance patient care. The session emphasizes practical strategies for balancing medical rigor with an expanded, patient-centered perspective.

Meet Your Faculty

Donald Novey, MD, FAAFP, ABOIM

Donald Novey, MD is a family physician and educator. He developed and directed the Center for Complementary Medicine on the campus of Lutheran General Hospital in Chicago. He is the author of the Clinician’s Complete Reference to Complementary and Alternative Medicine as well as several medical textbooks and the diagnostic training website medicalmediasystems.com. He has spoken widely on the implementation of Integrative Medicine in a general medical setting. He currently practices family and integrative medicine in Poulsbo, Washington.
