Course Description

The Whole Health System of Care represents a transformative shift in healthcare, focusing on empowering patients to take charge of their health by addressing what matters most to them. This course explores the components of the VA’s Whole Health System, emphasizing the integration of complementary and integrative health approaches, personal health planning, and self-care strategies to improve patient outcomes.

Participants will learn how to apply Whole Health principles in daily clinical practice, utilizing tools like the Circle of Health, Whole Health Coaching, and Veteran engagement strategies to support personalized, proactive, and patient-driven care. Case examples will illustrate how shared decision-making and interprofessional collaboration enhance both patient well-being and clinician satisfaction.

Pharmacist

This knowledge-based activity has been assigned UAN JA0004637-9999-25-017-H99-P and will award 0.75 contact hour of continuing pharmacy education credit in states that recognized ACPE Providers.   

Statements of participation will indicate hours and CEUs based on participation and will be issued online at the conclusion of the activity. Successful completion includes completing the activity, its accompanying evaluation and/or posttest (score 70% or higher) and requesting credit online at the conclusion of the activity.   

Credit will be uploaded to CPE Monitor, and participants may print a statement of credit or transcript from their NABP e-profile. HSC complies with the Accreditation Standards for Continuing Pharmacy Education.

Course Outline

Meet Your Faculty

Kavitha Reddy, MD

Kavitha Reddy is currently the Associate Director of Employee Whole Health in the Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) Office of Patient-Centered Care and Cultural Transformation (OPCC & CT). She is a practicing Emergency Medicine Physician with fellowship training in Integrative Medicine, at VA St. Louis Healthcare System in Missouri. She is an Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine at the Washington University School of Medicine. She previously served for three years as the Whole Health System Clinical Director for the VA St. Louis Healthcare System and ten years as a National Whole Health Champion for VHA OPCC & CT. She is an active member of the VHA Reducing Employee Burnout and Optimizing Organizational Thriving (REBOOT) Implementation team and currently serves as Executive Sponsor for the Chief Well-Being Officer Initiative. She is a Member-At-Large on the Board of Directors for the Academic Consortium of Integrative Medicine and Health.
