Course Description

The AIHM Fellowship is a transformative experience that equips healthcare professionals with the skills, mindset, and integrative approaches needed to drive meaningful change in healthcare. This course explores how the fellowship experience fosters self-care, enhances clinical practice, and prepares graduates to lead systems-level transformation.

Participants will explore the integration of self-care practices, patient-centered care, and interprofessional collaboration into their clinical and leadership roles. The session will highlight real-world applications of Whole Health principles, advocacy for policy changes, and the power of community engagement in transforming healthcare systems.

Course Outline

Meet Your Faculty

Catherine Justice, DTP, PT, C-IAYT

Dr. Justice specializes in holistic and creative approaches to physical therapy and wellness including therapeutic yoga, posture training and somatic education, and craniosacral therapy. She is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of St. Catherin in the Graduate Studies in Holistic Health Department, teaching courses on mind/body science and the stress/relaxation response. In her work with patients, Catherine blends these eclectic approaches to wellness in order to facilitate deeper healing and recovery.

Anupama Kizhakkeveettil, PhD, BAMS, MAOM, LAc, FAIHM, C-IAYT

Dr. Kizhakkeveettil is an Ayurvedic Practitioner, licensed acupuncturist, yoga teacher, and Professor and Program Director of Ayurvedic Medicine at Southern California University of Health Sciences. Her many contributions to the field of complementary and alternative medicine include extensive travel to propagate Ayurveda worldwide, numerous research presentations at national and international conferences, frequent publication in various peer-reviewed research journals, and regular participation as a peer reviewer at conferences as well as journals.

Landon Opunui, ND, FAIHM

As a Native Hawaiian, Dr. Opunui functions as a naturopathic physician that weaves the traditional views of Hawaiian health with the scientific understanding of plants and the human body by integrating traditional, natural and modern medicine to restore health. Dr. Opunui is the medical director of Nā Puʻuwai and is the first naturopathic physician in history to be appointed medical director of a federally funded Native Hawaiian Health Care System where his team has designed an innovative Native Hawaiian Integrative Health Center that provides culturally responsive, interdisciplinary health services, programs and resources to the rural island communities of Molokaʻi and Lānaʻi.
